Bit of this and that

I have just posted my first two fanfics on the Bad Girls Enhanced website (http://s1.zetaboards.com/bgenhanced/index/) and the Helen & Nikki message boards ( http://z4.invisionfree.com/Nikki_and_Helen/index.php?act=idx ) and the feedback was overwhelming. The thought of other people reading my stuff was nerve-wracking, but then the positive responses came pouring in and have inspired me to do more. So, I'm starting a couple of new and much longer ones....still Helen and Nikki themed and based on the actual characters from the show, not an AU story, although I'm not opposed to that. But, I'm still finding my voice and practicing the art of writing, so starting with characters that are already so fleshed out is helpful, albeit a short-cut for sure.

I also just started reading Anne Lamott's book on writing, called Bird by Bird and it's great. I recommend it to anyone who wants to get better at writing or start to write.

Related to BG, we are almost at the end of series 7 and have enjoyed some of the story lines, but I have to say, it's almost as if the creators lost interest in their first-born child. Many of the stories feel forced and rushed, as if to just get it in there. It's sad really. And I really have not enjoyed any of the other lesbian couples portrayed since series 3. They are quite dull and not captivating at all (IMO). More later.
