Bad Girls Community

I have recently been immersing myself in the various Bad Girls message boards (probably to distract myself from all the crises going on in my world... hurricanes, elections, and now a failing financial industry, which we will likely have to bail out...

But I digress. So, getting "involved" in these online communities has allowed me to "meet" some interesting people. My interaction with my new friends has been stimulating to say the least...I've learned the art of cyber-flirting (it's harmless, I promise, MB), I've experienced theater of the mind in a thread designed for social interactions, and I've read some really great fan fiction (and some not so great stuff too, but eye-of-the-beholder and all that).

I used to scoff at online chat rooms and interactive message boards, but I have found them to be therapeutic and evocative. Now, I'm not naive enough to think that everyone who tells you about themselves is being true and honest, but as long as you don't put yourself out there too much, it's all just good fun. And I'm finding there's the possibility of creating real and lasting friendships.
