More Random Questions

Why did Shell Dockley have a bird in her cell? That seems crazy, in and of itself. But are birds really allowed in prison?

Also, why did Shed stop naming the episodes after Series 4? Again, feels like they gave up a bit.

Will the HBO adaptation be any good? Will they actually use the names Helen and Nikki? I think that's a huge mistake... create other characters who fill that role, but there's no replacing or probably even replicating the chemistry between Simone and Mandana (and I'm not going there, YL... LOL... chemistry is chemistry)

I have so many questions and no one to pose them to. Aargh!

Actually, I never thought about why Shell had a bird (Charlie) in her cell...she just did. If I had to hazard a guess, I would suspect that Fenner arranged it for her.

I think that after Simone and Mandana left after Series 3, the creators simply lost interest. Had they stayed on, I think the series would have taken on an entirely different look.

HBO. Who knows if it will be any good or not. To the devotees of the original, nothing will ever be good enough; the writers would really have to pull a bunny out of the hat to get the "old" fans to sign on. They might pull in new viewers...those who are not at all familiar with the UK series.

Helen and Nikki revived? I'm not sure. I agree that chemistry is chemistry, but look at Jennifer Beals and Laurel whats-her-name in the L Word...their chemistry wasn't bad at all. I really think it depends on the story itself and the committment of the actors to make it "real".

I think I tend to agree that they need to change the names to protect the innocent.

Additionally, I'm trying to think of ANY remake that was as good as the first. Offhand, I can't think of one...but I'll keep trying.

Do you want to debate the issue? Try talking to a yankee...
